DEREK FLYNN

Derek Flynn is a Waterford author, playwright, and musician with a Masters in Creative Writing from Trinity College, Dublin. He is the author of six novels, including the John Ryan series featuring the eponymous ex-cop turned private detective. His award-nominated plays have been performed in Garter Lane Art Centre, Waterford, and Smock Alley, Dublin, amongst other venues.
JOANNE McCARTHY
Joanne McCarthy writes in Waterford in both English and Irish. Her work is published in Poetry Ireland Review, Irish Independent New Irish Writing, The Stinging Fly, Comhar, Splonk, Aneas, The Honest Ulsterman, The Cormorant, Marble Broadsheeet and more. She is anthologised in Hold Open the Door, The Ireland Chair of Poetry Anthology, The Stony Thursday Book and The Same Page Anthology.

She is an Arts Council Agility Award recipient 2021, a John Hewitt International Summer School bursary recipient 2021 and a mentorship recipient from the Arts Office, Waterford City and County Council.

Joanne is currently reading poetry at the Seamus Heaney Centre, Queen's University, Belfast.
